The Modern Version of Ravan

Vijaydashmi or Dusshera has been celebrated due to the victory of Lord Rama over Ravan. It is the festival of victory of good over bad or evil. The victory of joy over sorrows, victory of light over ignorance and darkness. With the passing time traits of Ravan has changed tremendously. Ravan of today's world has become more advanced and Hi-tech along with that they have become corrupt and mean. It's not new to introduce ourselves with these Ravans, I am sure, many of us have been confronted to them atleast once in our lives. These Ravans belong to the tribe of today's corrupt politicos, bureaucrats, corrupt babus of government offices, authorities spreading communal violence and universally spreaded terrorists, the totally upgraded and transformed version of Ravan.

Today's Ravan is imbibed with characteristics of greediness, discontentment, decietfulness, power and charm of money, its all just travelling across their neurons of the brain. Power, money and peddling is a note of concern for them and Moral Values have NOW taken a back seat. Blood shed, violence, brutality are the arms and ammunition of terrorists (Ravan).

Recent apt prodigy of Ravan reflecting all the above traits is CommonWealth Games 2010. The colossal and prismatic reflection of venality, lack of skill, competence, casual attitude of insouciance coupled with laxity. But this can be find anywhere as government offices are occupied with same ilk always ready to take bribe, sometimes openly sometimes secretly.

In this Ghor Kalyug what else we can hope for, but as it is rightly said in a proverb "Exceptions are always there" there are people upright in real sense, who believe in social upliftment rather having an individualistic approach.

India's another name is "Golden Bird", but these Ravans have looted their own heritage booty.

CWG -Make an Awesome Beginning

At the last minute all turned out well...3rd October,2010 sharp at 7pm, Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium warmly welcomed the Desi and Videshi Mehmaan. It accomodated around 60,000 people. The bride's veil was unveiled and the world saw the Indian beauty wittout blinking their eye.
The ceremony augmented with the dhvani of shankh and after an array of speeches finally the President Pratibha Patil declaired the "Game Open". The show stopper of the CWG2010 show was Aerostat, the worlds largest helium balloon of Rs 70 cr. The crowd took full enjoyment of laser and fire work. There was amazing amalgam of art culture and technology. The mega sport opening ceremony was quintessential in all its sense. The theme was conceived of vibrant and dazzling Indian culture, commonality under the one roof, rhythm of harmony with  various regional music all merged or blend in one Indian shade.

It has scenes of performing artists, the Indian railways and tempting cuisines all served in one platter. The songs played by Hariharan & A.R. Rehmaan especially the official theme song of CWG  and another hit number "Jai Ho".

Its good to know that the global media as of Australia and Britain has rated the Opening Ceremony spectacular. At the end note we can say that Jai ho.

Common Wealth Games 2010 - The Indian Chapters

Though, its Uncommon for India to host CommonWealth Gmaes but when given this oppurtunity and privilege the government and the organising committee has taken it too commonly. while every day or every hour a new compelling story gets revealed via media about the disorganization, mismanagement, corruption happening in the CWG2010. Even when the guests are standing at our doorsteps preparrtion for this mega event still going on at this 11th hour. The CWG organising committee has shed all the charges and accusations dwelt upon them saying just an excuse "If they had got the venues earlier they would have done more work". Isn't strange that seven years are still not enough to hold this mega sport event in an organized way, that too with always increased budget that was fixed for the games.

From sanitations to lodging everything is improper. Toilets were cluttered with all garbage and stained with paan, even there was no proper water supply there, and yes, there was water leakage problem in the pipes. Stairs made for fire exit lying broken and water all around the village area providing a medium for thriving of mosquitoes. Even the wi-fi system is not working. The bed did not had a plywood on it and the mattress were embellished with footprints. The collapsing of the bridge made with 10 crores had collapsed the Indian image globally. The finishing work is still going on or you can say the fianl touch is yet to be given. The news shows that animals are hunting in the games village the best exemplary are snakes and dogs. The latest news revealed by the media is that the water taps, bed sheets hav been stolen from the flats of the village.

Well the organizing commmitte would have swollen with confidence to know that many participating nations and atheletes have withdrawn their names from CWG. The teams which have landed India had at first stayed in the hotels to take safe shelter rather than at games village.

The chalta hai attitude had made the government always indulge in hibernation and aestivation. Wake up now, before its too late. But for now, we are bhagwan bharose!
